They would have to go and recode the xbox originals to work on the handheld if that is the route they went. A little more legroom with extra RAM and a decently powerful chip would work wonders. Emulating the original Xbox is out of the question, even the 360 sometimes chugs at doing that task (though I think it emulates the GPU of the original strickly on the CPU?, might be wrong there).

It could be done. And while they recode the top games for the handheld, if the chips were com...

Yeah, that setup would be pretty tight for this game. Nice choices. A 3870 wouldn't be too bad either. One of those 9800 GTX or the original 8800 GTXs are good choices too, though far pricier.

Personally, my favorite isn't included in that list: the older Logitech G7. Basically, all it is is a wireless version of the G5 (actually, it came out before the G5, so the G5 is a wired version of the G7). It's wireless receiver plugs in via the USB and it charges a second battery. So, you never have to buy AA batteries for this thing. When the one your using runs out of juice, you go and slap the other one in, takes all of 5-10 seconds. 2000 dpi, wireless and no lag whatsoever. Plus, this...

Quad cores aren't really worth it right now for Games. You might be better off getting the dual core E8400 or E8500 instead. Lower price and they are clocked higher from the get go. However, if you really want one, that Q6600 isn't a bad choice, though intel has some newer solutions out there now. Q9XXX somethings I think? Apparently they overclock pretty well too.

Hmm, by the looks of things over at that forum the article comes from, what they meant by processor type from intel is only the old P4's (northwood and prescott). Usually, if the game requires a newer chip, they will label beside it Core 2 Duo or Pentium D or dual core, something like that. I haven't seen a game yet that doesn't do it. Though I do find the recommended settings a little weird in the CPU department, only a .2 Ghz bump up in requirements? Usually, you see a larger jump there or ...

Well, considering the PSP has pretty much all of those specs already (it has 64 MB in the new version and that retails for 169.99 CDN right now (from futureshop.ca), I don't think it's out of the question. Replace the UMD drive in there with the hard drive, it has a memory expansion port (memory stick), it has TV out now, it has a widescreen, etc... I'm sure Microsoft could pull off a decent system for around 225~275 dollars initially. I shouldn't have said to use Xenon and Xenos parts, I me...

This could be really good for gamers out there if Microsoft went ahead and made a handheld. There are a lot of neat things they could do with it if they immediately, from the get go, combine it with their Live service. Imagine, combine a MP3/video player (Zune), game machine, MSN, Live and maybe some VOIP to boot.

Possibly, the hardware could be made somewhat similar to that of the 360 right now, but obviously scaled down, but enough for compatibility with some of the software. P...

Actually, when you factor in the fact that they do not include: disk, case, manual (which cost money to make, duh), no need for physical distribution or retail markup, you would figure that they would cost far less then that. Also, you don't have a disc, so there is no resale value on these (which means more return profit) AND you can't lend it out to your friends (which means they have to either buy their own or borrow your 360). Lots to think about. These games are pretty much pure, 99% pro...

Yeah, I do feel that they overcharge for the originals. 1200 MS points, what is that in dollars. I think 12.50USD is 1000, and 15.50 CDN is 1000 as well (why we pay more in Canada is anyones guess, dollars are worth close to the same, right now $0.98 USD= $1.00 CDN). Anyway, that means it costs around, what, $15 USD in US. And Canada, we pay $18.60 per xbox original. And, at 800 MS points, you are paying exactly 10 dollars US for a XBLA game, or $12.40 CDN. Damn, we pay lots of money.

That X-Men game was damn good. Well, I remember it being good anyway, who knows how it compares to something newer but the nostalgia is always there. 400 MS point quick port would suffice probably, not worth a remake.

One more thing, it wouldn't be too bad of an idea either to try and port some of the games being remade for the hand helds to the respective download services as well. Mega Man X (the original) has been remade for the PSP, why not release that on the other services....

Not only is it (sometimes but often) cheaper to buy the games in the store, they don't take up space on you HDD (come on Microsoft, 5400 RPM 250 Gig laptop drives go for around $100.00 CDN, make them available to us for a decent price) and you can lend them out to your friends or borrow them from them when they're done. Me and my friends are always hesitant to go and download a game when we know we could probably find it in the store. Only rare games get the download treatment (like Indigo P...

For a lot of games, it is probably a lot easier to port over the PC version then attempt to properly emulate the Xbox version AND get a decent framerate at the same time, Deus Ex being one of the key games there.

Heck, and why does it just have to be old Xbox games too, why don't developers go ahead and try porting some games that never came out on the Xbox? Why not port the Devil May Cry series over to the 360 as a download, or Metal Gear Solid series (ooh, Sony fanboys would s...

I wouldn't worry about it not selling too much. I'm sure all those 13 year olds out there have adult accounts under their parents names anyway. And those who don't, well, they can't buy anything anyway right?

It would be nice if, for some of these games that came out on multiple platforms (i.e the PC), that they would port the PC version over to the 360 instead of emulate the Xbox version. The emulator has to be tweak anyway to properly play the game right, so why not put that programming effort into porting over a superior version. Not that Chaos Theory on the Xbox looked bad or anything, but the PC version was prettier. Even has support for controllers. That way, we could get true widescreen (on...

This was one great game when it came out. I picked up the PC version and enjoyed virtually every minute of it. It was a little short, but the gameplay was very good and the graphics were superb. The levels were a little boxy looking, but the excellent normal mapping hid that so well you couldn't notice. Even Doom 3 didn't look quite as good (even though it had more complex geometry and a lot more animated parts in the environment moving around), and that game was supposed to be the best graph...

This is good news indeed. But one funny thing about those old wired controllers... they took batteries. Really weird. Good to know.

Hmmm, but are three of these mid-high end GPUs enough to beat a single high end core, like a 8800 or 9800 GTX? I don't mind the possiblity of "hexa Crossfire", but these are three of their mid range GPUs in a card? Is it really necessary to pair these kinds of parts together? Wouldn't someone rather just have two higher end cores in a single card (are the 3850 and 3870 the same core?, I can't recall), instead of forking out for three lower end ones? I mean, sure it has 1.5 gigs of R...

Yeah, that beat the game with the controller achievement is retarded, so are the co-op ones. Who comes up with this stuff? And nevermind that, who at microsoft actually approves some of these achievements? You would figure by now they know what are good achievements and what are bad achievements right? Whatever, they don't really mean anything anyway. I would rather see more unlockable content associated with them and multiplayer awards, I think that is the way to go really.

Weapons based achievements are pain in the ass. Ever play Blacksite: Area 51. It's not a recommended play of mine but it's not the worst game in the world. Anyway, they have some stupid ass weapons achievements. I'm not talking kill 100, 250 or 1000 people with one weapon, no that would be too easy. They have something like kill 100,200, 500, 1000 w/e with EVERY WEAPON. Some of those weapons you barely ever use, and you can't keep track of what you have been using. It carries over from single...

There are some other hard achievements too that they omitted, like beat through fire and flames or gold star twenty songs on expert in Guitar Hero III (although I think there is a glitch with that last one that makes it easy), and all of those other leaderboard style achievements (like in the first GRAW).

But we are forgetting another hard set of achievements: those from multiplayer games that nobody plays. You can't even earn the achievements because nobody plays them online, ...
